AUCTION NCRS 2005 FLORIDA
One aspect of the January 2005 National Corvette Restorers Society Event held in Kissimmee, Florida was a two day car Auction held by Mecum Auctioneers. We found it to be an exciting event where many fine cars were auctioned.
. Cars line up for Auction
There was an abundance of Corvettes, of all years, and many other vintage cars of interest. We found 1955 to 1958 Corvette Classics and most other models from then to now going up on the block. It was hard not to think about bidding on many of these wonderful looking Stingrays, L88’s and Sharks waiting to be auctioned in the area outside the auction. All the automobiles going up for auction are available for viewing on Friday and Saturday Auction days.

This auction appeared to be a great place to find a Corvette to restore or one that had already had the work done to it.
Very tempting to bid on!
SWAP FIELD, AUTO SALES AND VENDORS

The Swap Field and Auto Sales areas are interesting to stroll through as do hundreds of people every day. Here you will fine cars for sale that are not in the auction. They range from fully restored classics to a variety of cars in all conditions. The cars you will find are not just Corvettes, all makes and models are represented.

There are all types of vendors also in the Swap Field including dealers, who buy and sell Corvette parts and other vendors who sell everything from cleaning materials to tools.

There are a number of vendors with booths who are well known to Corvette enthusiasts. We talked to a few of them and their interviews are included in this coverage.
There is a lot to do and see at the National Corvette Restorers Society Event in Florida . If you missed it in 2005, there is always 2006.

CLASIC CORVETTE SHOW CARS

This was the second year that Lyndale Island covered the NCRS Florida Chapter’s event and one of the best aspects of the four days is seeing all the beautiful Corvette Show cars that are here, competing for prizes. The judging is extremely through with judges checking every detail of these extraordinary cars.
Judging Corvettes
Video coverage of the classic Corvettes is in three parts (to keep streaming time down), each picture below will take you to a different video.
Part One Show Cars.
Each and every part is checked for authenticity. Bodies are examined for fit and finish down to how much space exists between fenders and bumpers. The judges appear to know their Corvettes and the owners of these fine cars have gone overboard in paying attention to every detail.
